Dr Mathuja Bavan
BSc, MBBS, FRACP
Dr Mathuja Bavan is a rheumatologist based in Melbourne, and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland, and initially worked at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (Queensland) and Eastern Health.
Following this, she completed her rheumatology advanced training at the Royal Hobart Hospital (Tasmania) and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, and has gained experience working in the Rheumatology clinic at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. In addition to consulting at the Victorian Rheumatology Group, Dr Bavan is undertaking clinical research at St Vincent's Hospital in scleroderma, and will also be consulting in Mildura.
Her interests include the diagnosis and management of a variety of rheumatological disorders including inflammatory arthritis, crystal arthritis, connective tissue disease and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders.
