Dr Alana Bruce


MBBS, BA, MRES, FRACP

Dr Alana Bruce is a rheumatologist in private practice, having obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in March 2021. She studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed her rheumatology training at St George, Royal Prince Alfred and Campbelltown Hospitals in Sydney.

Dr Bruce feels fortunate to be able to care for people with autoimmune rheumatic disease at a time of expanding knowledge of the immune system and variety of treatment options.

She has particular interest in the interplay between rheumatic disease and cancer and completed a Master of Research at Macquarie University in 2022, investigating rheumatic toxicities associated with cancer immunotherapy in patients with advanced melanoma.

Dr Bruce has also been involved in peer review for medical journals and is currently on the Australian Rheumatology Association Clinical Resources Committee. She has been involved in medical education and is currently affiliated with St Vincent’s clinical school and Melbourne University.

Dr Bruce is a mother of two young children and is passionate about music. She has previously completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne.
